Blade & Bastard Anime's Teaser Reveals Main Staff, 2027 Debut on HIDIVE
The upcoming anime adaptation of Kumo Kagyu's light novel series, Blade & Bastard, has unveiled its main staff and release date. Directed by Tomoki Kobayashi at Xingfu Entertainment, the anime will debut in 2027 on HIDIVE, with J-Novel Club publishing the novel simultaneously with its Japanese release. The series is set in the world of the pioneering computer role-playing game franchise Wizardry and follows Iarumas, a character who delves into the dungeon to revive the bodies of dead adventurers.
The voice cast includes Makoto Furukawa as Iarumas, Tomori Kusunoki as Garbage, Daiki Yamashita as Raraja, Saori Hayami as Ainikki, and Shion Wakayama as Berkanan. The light novel series, launched in December 2022, is illustrated by so-bin, who also worked on Overlord. Drecom published the sixth volume on March 10, 2023. The manga adaptation, launched in June 2023, is published by Drecom and licensed by Yen Press, with the fourth volume released in English on June 23.
